How do I generate vocabulary cards?

Tap the "AI Generate" button on the New Vocabulary tab. Make sure Apple Intelligence is enabled on your device (iPhone 15 Pro or newer).

How do I add my own images?

Tap "Add Image" on any card to choose from AI generation, hand drawing, or camera/photo library.

Why isn't Apple Intelligence working?

Make sure:

• You have iOS 26 or later
• You have iPhone 15 Pro or newer
• Apple Intelligence is enabled in Settings > Apple Intelligence & Siri
• Your device language is set to a supported language (currently English, with more languages coming)

What if it says there are no words?

In some cases, Apple Intelligence may not return words as expected. You can try again later.

How do I delete or edit a card?

Long-press on a card in the Memorized tab and select "Delete" or "Edit" from the context menu.

How do I move cards between tabs?

Use the swipe gestures:

• Swipe Right: Move card to "Memorizing" (needs more practice)
• Swipe Left: Move card to "Memorized" (you've learned it)

How do I replay the onboarding tutorial?

Go to Settings > Instructions > "Restart Onboarding" to see the tutorial again.

Can I use the app without Apple Intelligence?

Partial functionality is available on older devices. You can manually create vocabulary cards and use all study features, but AI vocabulary generation and AI image generation require iPhone 15 Pro or newer with Apple Intelligence enabled.

How does the review system work?

Aikochan uses spaced repetition (SRS). Rate your memory as Forgot/Good/Easy, and the app will schedule optimal review times.

Privacy & Data

All your vocabulary cards, study progress, and AI-generated content are stored locally on your device. We do not collect, store, or transmit your learning data to any servers.
